Reduce the Trash

Reduce the trash that comes out from the household to as much less as possible to have a lesser impact on the environment. This helps declutter our homes and minds. We can try to come as close as possible to achieving Zero trash even if it may seem a little extreme.

Tips to Reduce Trash

  1. No soda in cans
    This in turn keeps us healthy.
  2. No water in plastic bottles
    This also keeps our body clean from sideeffects of cosuming from plastic bottles
  3. No disposable cups of coffee
    Decrease of caffeine in system
  4. No disposable razors and cartridges
    Blade razors are a great tool
  5. No food in throwaway plastic tubs
    Have own set of resusable containers for this task
  6. Buy milk in reusable glass bottles
    Healthy for us and healthy for planet
  7. Return cartons to the vendors
    Returning them to the vendors at the farmers market can help them reuse those items.
  8. Reusable bags for shopping
    Using reusable bags for shopping and grocery is a great ay to avoid plastic clutter, as well save money on those bags.
  9. Avoid paper towel for cleaning up
    Wash hands and dry them using a cloth instead of using paper.
  10. Ask waiters/servers in restaurants to use no garbage policy for you
    And tip them too for their work.
  11. Avoid candies that are individually packed
    Instead buy them in jars, or refills
  12. Keep worm bin to compost
    Keep a worm bin to compost the food scrap, so that it can act as manure, than releasing toxins in the landfills.
  13. Buy fresh food from farmer’s market
    Buy vegetables in bulk from the farmers market where they are unpackaged and fresh.
  14. Say no to packaged food
    Forget about processed and packaged foods. They are unhealthy, both for our health as well as the environment.
  15. Say NO to Disposables
    Try to get rid of disposables as much as possible, and use reusable containers instead.
